Morocco is one of those places where the ocean, the mountains, and centuries of culture exist within a few hours of each other. This trip is designed to experience all of it, not just the waves.
We begin in Marrakech, a city that feels like stepping into another century: labyrinth medinas, rooftop teas, spice markets, and the energy of Jemaa el-Fnaa square. From there we explore the landscapes around the Atlas Mountains, visit Amazigh villages, and ride camels across the rocky desert plains of Agafay.
Then we head west toward the Atlantic, where the rhythm of the trip slows down. For the next seven days we settle into our surf house in Tamraght, a laid-back fishing village that has quietly become one of Morocco’s best surf bases.
Days here follow a simple rhythm: sunrise surf checks, coaching sessions, long lunches, sunsets over the ocean, and occasional explorations into local life: souks, argan oil cooperatives, desert dunes, and palm valleys.
This trip is built for surfers who want to improve their surfing while also understanding the places they travel to.
The goal isn’t just to chase waves, it’s to leave Morocco feeling like you actually experienced it.
This trip is designed for surfers who want more than just a surf camp.
It’s for those who enjoy improving their surfing while also discovering the culture, landscapes, and everyday life of the places they travel to.
Most of our guests are intermediate surfers who are comfortable in the ocean and want to progress with guidance, video feedback, and time in the water.
If you are newer to surfing, you are still very welcome. We simply divide the group by level and choose surf spots accordingly, so beginners can build confidence while more experienced surfers continue progressing.
At the same time, the journey is about slowing down and enjoying the rhythm of travel: shared meals, sunsets on rooftops, conversations after surf sessions, and exploring places that make the trip memorable beyond the waves.
If you’re looking for a trip that combines surf progression, cultural exploration, and a relaxed group atmosphere, this experience was designed for you.

Today we leave the city and head into the Atlas Mountains.

This day offers a first glimpse into Morocco’s rural culture and slower mountain life.

Our last full day on the coast.
Sunrise surf, video feedback sessions, and a relaxed closing dinner together.
Transfer back to Marrakech for departures.
Throughout the journey we stay in two carefully selected places that reflect different sides of Morocco: the historic charm of Marrakech and the relaxed rhythm of the Atlantic coast.
For the first nights of the trip we stay in a traditional Moroccan riad located inside the old medina. Built around a peaceful interior courtyard, riads offer a quiet retreat from the lively streets outside.
Expect beautiful Moroccan architecture, colorful tiles, and a central courtyard with a pool where guests can unwind after a day exploring the city. Each morning begins with a traditional Moroccan breakfast featuring fresh pastries, fruit, pancakes, and local specialties.
Staying in a riad is one of the most authentic ways to experience Moroccan hospitality.
On the coast we stay in our surf house in Tamraght, a relaxed village known for its consistent waves and laid-back surf culture.
The house reflects the warmth of Berber hospitality, with simple, comfortable rooms and welcoming common spaces where guests gather after surf sessions. Meals are prepared in a traditional style, with homemade Moroccan dishes, fresh ingredients, and shared dinners that are often a highlight of the stay.
From the rooftop we watch the sun set over the Atlantic, stretch during yoga sessions, or simply relax after a long day in the water. Located close to some of the region’s best surf breaks, the house allows easy access to the waves while keeping the authentic village atmosphere that makes Tamraght special.
Days here revolve around surfing, good food, shared stories, and the rhythm of life by the ocean.

The trip begins in Marrakech, where we meet for the first three days of cultural exploration before heading to the coast for the surf portion of the journey.
Participants should book their flights to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK).
Our group will arrive in the late afternoon of December 9, so we recommend choosing flights that land by the end of the afternoon to comfortably join the welcome meeting and first evening in the medina.
One convenient option is flying with Royal Air Maroc, which offers routes from São Paulo (GRU) to Marrakech (RAK) with a connection in Casablanca.
Total travel time: approximately 13–14 hours including connection.
Flights on this route are often available for around MAD 7,000 round trip (approximately R$4,000) depending on the season and how early the ticket is purchased.
Travelers departing from Rio de Janeiro will need to take a short domestic flight to São Paulo (GRU) before connecting to the international flight.
A useful benefit of flying with Royal Air Maroc is that they allow passengers to check a surfboard bag in place of a standard checked suitcase at no extra cost, which is very convenient for surfers traveling with their own boards.
There are many direct and low-cost flights to Marrakech from major European cities.
Flight times from Europe are typically 2–4 hours, making Marrakech one of the most accessible surf destinations from the continent.
Once everyone arrives in Marrakech, transportation for the group from Marrakech to Tamraght and back to Marrakech is already included in the trip.
We will coordinate arrival times closer to the trip so transfers run smoothly for everyone.
Currency
The local currency in Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Credit cards are accepted in many places in Marrakech and larger establishments, but cash is still widely used, especially in markets, small shops, and villages. ATMs are widely available in Marrakech, Agadir, and Tamraght.
Language
The official languages are Arabic and Amazigh (Berber). However, French is widely spoken, and many people in the tourism and surf industry also speak English.
Water Temperature & Wetsuit
In December the Atlantic water temperature is typically around 18–20°C. A 3/2 mm wetsuit is recommended for comfortable surf sessions. Wetsuits are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.
Surf Conditions
Morocco offers some of the most consistent waves in the world during winter. The coastline around Tamraght has a variety of surf breaks suitable for intermediate surfers looking to improve. Each day we choose the best surf spot depending on swell, wind, and tides.
If There Is No Surf
While December is typically a very consistent surf season, the ocean is always unpredictable. If conditions are not suitable for surfing, we use the opportunity to explore other parts of the region — cultural visits, local villages, coastal hikes, or additional excursions.
Cultural Etiquette
Morocco is a welcoming and culturally rich country. When visiting villages or markets, it is respectful to dress modestly, especially outside surf areas. Always ask before taking photos of people.
Electricity
Morocco uses Type C and Type E plugs with a standard voltage of 220V. European plug types generally work without an adapter.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all participants have valid travel insurance that covers surf activities.
To make the most of the trip, we recommend bringing a few personal essentials for both surfing and exploring Morocco.
For Surfing
Your own surfboard (optional if you prefer using the included equipment)
Surf booties if you are sensitive to reef or colder water
A small dry bag for phones or valuables during surf sessions
Reusable water bottle
For Exploring
Comfortable walking shoes or sandals for city and village visits
A light backpack for day trips
A light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings
Swimwear for pools and natural swimming spots
Personal Items
Personal medications and basic travel kit
Small daypack for excursions
A scarf or shawl (useful for sun protection or visiting traditional areas)
A small amount of cash for markets and local purchases
Morocco is generally very relaxed for travelers, so packing light and comfortably is perfectly fine.
