Trip F.A.Q. & Prep Guide
Who we are: SWELL ADVENTURES LTDA Contact: swelladventures1@gmail.com / +5521970877781.
🌍 Who are these trips for?
What level surfer do I need to be?
Most of our trips are designed for intermediate surfers who want to improve but don’t know exactly where to start.
You’re probably a good fit if you:
- Feel stuck in your progression
- Want structured feedback
- Catch waves consistently but lack confidence or technique clarity
- Want to surf better, not just surf more
Our surf trips are always organized by level, so the group stays aligned and the coaching quality stays high. We don’t mix total beginners with intermediates — that way everyone gets the attention they actually need.
We also offer separate trips for complete beginners, where the focus is fundamentals, ocean confidence, and building solid foundations from scratch.
Some destinations (like Nias or heavier reef setups) are reserved for confident intermediates. Each trip page clearly states the required level.
If you’re unsure where you fall — message us.
We’d rather guide you honestly than oversell you.
Can I come if I don’t surf?
Yes — many destinations offer a companion package.
You can:
- Join the group energy
- Explore the destination
- Enjoy cultural experiences
- Relax, work remotely, or just vibe
We design the experience so non-surfers don’t feel like “extras.”
I usually travel solo. Will this feel too group-heavy?
Not at all.
Swell Adventures attracts independent, thoughtful travelers.
We balance:
- Structured surf sessions
- Free time
- Optional activities
- Community dinners
You’ll have space — and connection.
🏄♀️ Surf & Coaching
Is coaching included?
Yes, on all trips.
Depending on the destination, this may include:
- In-water guidance
- Video analysis
- Positioning and wave selection feedback
- Surf-skate sessions (Rio trips)
- Technique breakdown sessions
- Surf Flow on land and functional training
We don’t just “take you surfing.”
We help you improve.
What if the waves are too big?
We prioritize safety and level-appropriate conditions.
We:
- Choose seasonal windows strategically
- Adjust surf spots daily
- Offer alternatives when needed
Ocean conditions are never guaranteed, but we always adapt intelligently.
Do I need to bring my own board?
It depends on the destination.
- Rio/Morocco trips: Board rentals available
- Indonesia / Peru/ El Salvador: Strongly recommended to bring your own board
- Custom board rental options may be available — check the trip page
We’ll advise you personally based on the forecast window and your level.
🏠 Accommodation & Logistics
What kind of accommodation can I expect?
We choose places that are:
- Clean
- Comfortable
- Well-located near surf
- Authentic to the destination
Some trips are boutique villas.
Some are local surf lodges.
Some are remote adventure stays.
Every trip page outlines exactly what to expect.
Do I share a room?
Room options vary by trip.
Most trips offer:
- Shared room (standard option)
- Private room upgrade (limited availability)
If privacy matters to you, book early.
Are airport transfers included?
Yes.
- Many remote trips include group transfers
- City-based trips (like Rio) may provide meeting-point coordination instead
Details are always listed on the trip page.
💰 Payments & Practicals
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers:
- Surfing
- Trip cancellation
- Medical care
- Emergency evacuation
Ocean sports carry risk. Be smart.
What’s not included in the trip price?
Typically not included:
- Flights
- Travel insurance
- Personal expenses
